I made the Santa Nutter Butters for Blair’s ballet Christmas party… and then she got sick and couldn’t go. She was so disappointed! She kept asking about those cookies and going to the party, and on and on.
When I was planning for the end of the year party, I figured I could do some Nutter Butter ballet slippers. A quick google search showed me that some people had already tried it, and they looked pretty cute!
I let Blair help me with these. It was a pretty good project for her to help with. She kept talking about how she was the “cookie person” and the “scissor person” and that she had 3 jobs and I had 2. She loved it.
I’m just not crazy about the taste of the pink melting pieces from Wilton, so I melted two bags of Ghirardelli White Chips and added a touch of pink food coloring.
Blair cut open the package of cookies (the scissor person). She was also the “cookie dropper.” She dropped the cookies one by one in the chocolate. The cookie turner job was a little too tedious for her, so I became the fork person.
She’s decked in Christmas attire in May. :)
We dropped the cookie in, flipped over with the fork to cover well, brought it out of the chocolate, let the excess drip, and scraped the bottom (Blair’s other job).
I put them on wire racks, but you can do wax paper as well.
The next day, I decorated them with white icing. I just used a premade icing so it would be easy, but those bags are a bit difficult to maneuver! The bows aren’t perfect, but for a 3 – 4 year old dance party, they were fine!
Those are our Nutter Butter Ballet Slipper Cookies!

That is about the cutest thing ever!
I've said it before but she has so much fun with you in the kitchen! Great memories y'all are making. She definitely is going to know how to cook she grows up!
The concentration on the "scrape" pics is adorable!! Cute cookies, Ash!
