We woke up this morning to a new time and the official beginning of the planting season. So hello longer days and goodbye to my hubby. He’s already been stretching the days a little, but now that we have light, they’ll be using it all – especially since 14 inches of rain has put them a little behind. (But we are so thankful for the rain.)
This past week, they started bedding watermelon land. Brad completely rebuilt the bedder this year, and he says it’s working better than it ever has.
They have the rye middles planted too.
After they run the bedder and make the pretty hills, they lay plastic.
You can see how high the beds are in this picture. They’re pretty big!
We have a new plastic this year, and he says he likes it. Hey, that’s two positives from a farmer; we might need to watch for flying pigs or something!
We took advantage of the extra daylight today to take Buddy swimming after nap.
This one is looking like herself!
There was a beautiful 7:45 sunset!
