How far along? 24 Weeks
Size of baby: About the size of an ear of corn (according to BabyCenter) – 12 inches long and about 1 1/2 pounds – big ear of corn if you ask me.
Maternity clothes? Love my skinny jeans from Old Navy. I’m going to miss them now that it’s getting hot.
Sleep: Yes! Lots.
Movement: Lots. He has makes my belly jump.
Food cravings: Nothing I’ve just GOT to have. Dairy Queen hamburgers are probably at the top of my list – although I haven’t had one lately. I love soup most any day.
Symptoms: Just a belly! Enjoying most every minute.
Gender: A “baby bowee.”
What I miss: Not really too much! My un-sore rump. The weekly P17 shots are tearing me up!
What I am looking forward to: Getting my nursery fabric samples I ordered! So excited!
Best moment this week: Went for my level 2 ultrasound and fetal echo on Tuesday. The doctor said everything looked great. It doesn’t look like this baby has the heart defect that Blair had (hers has been resolved for a while now). I got to see the baby for a long time while the tech measured every part of his little body and counted his fingers and toes. He was moving and shaking the whole time. At one point he stretched out and she got a picture of both legs straight out side by side. She said he measured just right at 1.5 pounds. She also said that he is breech right now but that he has plenty of time to change. That would explain the hefty kicks to my bladder!
The doctor suggested that I could get a shot of penicillin at 37 weeks to help with the GBS that made Blair sick before she was born. The only thing is that I was allergic to penicillin as a child and haven’t had it since. He then said that I could go to an allergist and check to see if I’m still allergic to it but that he wouldn’t bank on it. I’m going to ask my doctor to see what he thinks.
