My friend Nicole and I went to the Peach Palette last week to make a fall wreath. The wreath they set out advertising the class caught my eye because it was made of burlap and cotton bolls with a beautiful brown striped bow – right up my alley!
This is the wreath from the side. I forgot to take a picture of it. Imagine that. :)
The class was in the evening. We dropped Leighton off at my mom’s and headed over for a girls’ night! (This was the first time I had really left Leighton. It was only for three hours, but we found he’s not so fond of a bottle.)
We started with a big roll of burlap that we wrapped around a straw wreath.
Once we wrapped the wreath, we started putting on the poofy parts. Mrs. Jane, the instructor, showed us how.

Pushing all those pins in gave us thumb aches!
Mrs. Jane showed us how to make a bow. Unfortunately, they didn’t have the brown stripe, but we mixed colored ribbon with a burlap, and it was also very pretty!

Then we added the cotton. Some people used leaves or sunflowers, but I wanted the harvest theme!

The finished wreaths! We had a lot of fun. Check out the Peach Palette event calendar for their other classes this fall! They are open daily for pottery painting. They have some precious pottery to paint and special activities for kids too.
