We discovered where the rooster was sleeping. He had made himself a bed next to the heating and cooling unit, right outside the guest bedroom window. And then he changed it up on us. Last night I found him on guard. On the front porch.
It may not look like it, but we live in town. The police department and city hall are within view from my house. And I have a rooster sleeping on my front porch.
We’ve had some dogs in our yard lately (and consequently I lost two chickens yesterday), so I ended up taking him to the chicken house, but I just love how proud he is to be guarding the house!

he's a keeper..as long as he doesn't start crowing under your bedroom window! :)
Ash, I'm going to trap some of these wild chickens here in Fitz and bring them to you. You want have to worry about the dogs anymore.
How did you make your recipe page with the recipe list? I have been trying to figure out how to do something like that for a while! I have recipes scattered everywhere!
Haha...your roster crackes me up!!!
He would be a cool doorbell if you could train him to crow when you pulled his tail feathers.
I love your car-watching rooster! Ours has similar antics, perching on the kitchen window to get better view of incoming foxes. :)

How cool. Our rooster just struts about like he's the man until danger arrives. Then he's the first in the hen house. Poor guy was rescued from the jaws of our dog once, so he's a bit flightier than he once was. Though that also saved his life. He was getting a tad aggressive toward the children and he was on my cull list.
He lost all his aggression along with the tail feathers the dog pulled out.
