Well I’ve been with Brad for over five years now, and last week for the very first time I had to call him to come pull me out. Yes, I was stuck. In the mud. On the
golf cart. How embarrassing! In those five years, Brad’s dad has made that call many times. He has a knack for getting stuck, but you know, it comes with their line of work. I was just riding along in the golf cart after our nice rain, and I bogged. So I did what good country girls do and I did the forward-reverse-forward-reverse to get it out. I even put a big stick in front of the tire for some traction. And it came out! Yay! BUT, I couldn’t get to hard enough ground to turn around, so I just kept going in the mud.

My idea was to go to higher ground in the middle of what was the watermelon field, hopefully down one of the harvest middles (where the buses drive) that was still firm although it had been recently harrowed and then to cut across the field back to the road. A good idea, but it didn’t work. I got bogged again, and the golf cart just did not have enough power to get out. I couldn’t budge it. The wheels wouldn’t even spin.

After I called Brad, we had to wait for a bit. I couldn’t convince Blair to stay in the golf cart.
Getting down for the first time.

Notice how deep my feed went into the mud. I had to take my flip flops off to keep them from breaking.
Blair and I both got so dirty, and she wanted the mud “off” of course.

I had
just had a pedicure.

“Off.”

Pointing out all the dirt.
Brad came to rescue us. He was a good sport. It didn’t take much to get us out, but it was not something I could do by myself while trying to keep an almost 2 year old out of trouble! I just watched while the expert took over.
It’s a good thing Brad is usually prepared for dirtiness!
At the end of the day, it was fun, and we made a good memory!
