Mother's Day

Yay for my second Mother's Day! Blair is such a blessing, and I'm so proud to be her mother. Blair, Brad and I had a great day! I got cards from them both -- Blair wrote me some cute scribbles -- and some ferns. Gigi had also taken Blair to paint me a trivet, which is precious! I hate I didn't take a single picture today! We ate Mexican buffet for lunch and then relaxed the rest of the day. Actually, we all slept from 3:30 until 6:00 this afternoon! Since I have clinicals tomorrow, Blair and I are at my parents' house for the night.

Brad and I are so thankful for our moms who are amazing grandmothers to Blair. I certainly couldn't be in school without their willingness to babysit (and buy most of her clothes!). I know that they enjoy it, but they do put their schedules on hold for us, and we are so appreciative of the time they are willing to spend with Blair. She is a busy one to keep, and I know she wears them out!

I'm so especially thankful for my mom. She is pretty awesome. I'm so happy that as I've gotten older our relationship has grown from parent-child to parent-child-best friend. I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have her to call every time something good or bad happened -- and she, of course, is my personal pediatrician!

I can honestly say that she is the most selfless person I know. She puts us kids first before any of her own wants. And I can't even tell you how many times my mom has put herself in a bind for me. She'll put off doing her stuff to make sure that I've got help, then she has to stay up late to do her work. While Blair was in the hospital, she even slept in the most uncomfortable chair in the world for two nights so Brad could work and I would still have help and be able to sleep. These examples are just recent, but she has been like that as long as she's been my mom!

Thank you Mom! I love you!
