Sacrifices

We all make sacrifices in our lives. One I have to make from time to time is going to a University of Georgia football game and actually pulling for the University of Georgia. Yes, that is a sacrifice. It's my doing away with my loyalty to the Yellow Jackets for my husband.

This is an issue for me, because I hate really don't care too much for the University of Georgia. (I know... boo, hiss. I can't help it.) But I love football, family, and doing things together. If Brad wants to go with his family to a UGA football game, that's great!
So Brad's dad, sister, Brad and I went to the UGA vs. LSU game at the beginning of the month. We had a great time. We ate some KFC (you know how men tailgate... and I had taken Blair to Atlanta that Friday, so I couldn't fix a real tailgate spread like I would have liked!), walked around campus (18 miles), and squeezed our way through the bookstore.

The game was a good one. I really (really) hated to see Georgia lose. I pulled. I really did. I yelled and clapped and screamed. I did not sing that song though. That's where I draw the line. We had a fun day. I would love to go Tech for a game, but somehow that's not one of the things my husband is willing to do. Hmmm. In his defense, he has been to several Tech basketball games with me. That was even where we had our first date. He has since said that he's not planning to do that again. Hmmm.

Let me just add one more thing. Although Brad claims to be a UGA fan, he doesn't keep up with much about it really. Consequently, since I, Blair's mommy, watch every single Yellow Jacket game, know the players, and have pulled for them my whole life, Blair should be a Yellow Jacket, right? Well, not according to Brad. So, I offered the following: if we go to a UGA game, Blair can wear red. If we go to a Tech game, Blair can wear gold. If they play each other and we go, she can pull for whoever is the home team. Good compromise, right? Nope. That didn't work for him. Something about she needs to be able to choose, blah, blah, blah. I thought that my offer would allow her to choose. Oh well. I know who buys her clothes, and that person does not wear red and black to any football game. Ha!

LOL -- this is why UGA fans should never marry Tech fans. Just kidding!!
Poor Blair -- someone (me) may have to send her some Georgia gear :)
Glad to see you're such a good sport!
Go Dawgs!
Love,
Jamie

Ha! We have the same predicament. I grew up a Georgia fan, and I am on... to an extent. Honestly, I just enjoy tailgating. Doesn't matter who is playing! Anyways, my dad would tell you otherwise... all about the red and black. So, Grayson wears the colors of whoever is playing... and should it be GA vs Tech... then she wears the colors of the home team, just like you had planned. I think that's fair! (However, no one got Grayson a Tech cheerleading outfit this past year... what will we do the game!? She DOES, however, have a GA one............
