Bye Bye Bessie

As of this past week, I am no longer a dairy provider. I am very proud of myself for having provided breastmilk for Blair for this long, but I feel liberated. What I was doing is just not the same as actually breastfeeding -- timewise at least. I couldn't go anywhere without having to make plans to pump or pump in the car (not while driving!). The Lactina, the car a/c plug adapter, and I were good friends, I have to admit. Pumping became a routine, but it was a very convenient one. Now we will be using up all of the stored milk I have in the freezer -- it'll last a month or so. When we got home, I used most of what I froze while she was in the hospital and then froze the newer milk until I changed to just using fresh milk each day. I'm hoping the freezer stock will last until we go to the gastroenterologist. Maybe he will have a new plan (hopefully not including an NG tube) for putting some weight on this baby!

Good job! I never cared much for pumping, so I really can appreciate the work and love you've put into feeding Blair! What a great mommy you are!

Good job! I feel your pumping pain and I can not wait until I am liberated. I found myself hooked up to my pumps blow drying me hair and doing my make-up yesterday. Very glamorous!
