Halfway there!

Yesterday I had my 20 week appointment and ultrasound. My Mema went with me, and we made a day of it and had a great time! Baby, who is still nameless, was a bit calmer than in previous ultrasounds. She sure likes to keep her arms above her head! Brad sleeps like that sometimes, so maybe that's where it came from.

We've done some work since Linsey's wedding. Brad actually went to shopping with me on the way home and helped me pick out a few things for the baby. I was surprised and delighted. I also ordered nursery furniture and precious bedding (from javisdavis.com) that came in earlier this week! I'm in love with it. I have
done some much needed organizing in the house to get ready to do the nursery and for us to move bedrooms! We have to wait until August for all of the baby's furniture to come in though.

Brad and I seem to be getting closer to names that we like. I hope we can nail something down soon, but I don't guess there's any need to rush.

Linsey's Wedding

Last weekend, Brad and I went up to north Alabama for Linsey and Ben's wedding. The weekend was perfect. Everything was absolutely beautiful -- especially Linsey! -- and the wedding was so much fun. I loved our bridesmaids' dresses, but I sure had to squeeze into mine!

Their pictures were done by michaelandrewphotography.com and he's posted some on his blog: michaelthemaven.com. He was great to work with, and the pictures are fantastic.

For Father's Day, I gave Brad a card from the dogs, of course, and a father-to-be card with an "I love Daddy" bib for the baby -- not much but cute!

The beginning...

Our baby girl prompted me to start this blog. So here she is saying hello at 17 weeks!

I titled our site "Across the Branch," because it was one of the first phrases I heard here that I had no idea what it meant, and it pretty much describes where we are! As far as I can tell, "across the branch" is used for "over yonder" or "on the other side of the woods." I grew up only miles from where Brad and I live, but they seem to speak a different language around here!
