We had a nice stay at the Coliseum with Blair on Monday and Tuesday nights -- if you can actually say that about spending the night in the hospital! I brought a bouncy seat for her, because at almost two months, Blair is spending more time awake and found that crib to be quite boring. Thank goodness they had a swing for her with a lovely construction paper mobile that Stacy made!

We packed up and headed home Wednesday afternoon. Blair had plenty of stuff to bring home. The nurses spoiled her. Daphne had made her a pumpkin name tag for her crib and another pumpkin telling everyone that Blair is sensitive to tape! She had a "My first Thanksgiving" turkey, hung on her bed by Kathy during day shift, and Regina colored it that same night. Kathy also made her a certificate of merit saying how proud they were of Blair. She had an angel ornament from Stacy and some pictures that Stephanie took of her first bath. We also were able to keep her beautiful crib blanket from Project Linus.

I was so emotional. Of course I was so happy to take Blair home but nervous, scared, and sad to leave the ones who have become family during the last two months. Before leaving our room, we had to make a quick trip through the NICU one last time to say goodbye to everyone. I spent a ton of time with the nurses and respiratory therapists working with Blair, and I enjoyed everyone so much. Not to mention they all loved Blair to pieces and took such good care of her. Brad and I are forever grateful that God provided such wonderful people to take care of Blair while she was sick.

Mama? What IS this?

Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! Let the Earth hear His voice!!
I am SOOO happy for y'all I could just squeal!! I remember so well those precious first days home (after a "normal" hospital stay, preemie twins after NICU - we loved Coliseum, too, and a bittersweet homecoming with our first baby girl). Cherish these days. You have always been beautiful and obviously with such a big, sweet heart. Before October 9, I never thought of you as being a person with anything "missing" that could have made you any prettier. . .until I saw the pictures of you holding your precious gift from God, and saw that LIGHT in your eyes that says, "She's really mine? And, she's okay? And, I can take her HOME? To HER room? To HER nursery that Brad and I worked on and dreamed in? Thank you, God, it's really going to happen!!" You have it all, now. God is so GOOD! And, you and Brad have been so good to give Him glory and praise throughout this time. I AM HERE FOR YOU no matter WHAT you need!!! You couldn't pay me to be around Miss Blair until after RSV season. . .(maybe I can see y'all at Easter LOL), but I can certainly bring things to put on the steps to keep any of Miss Blair's Fan Club from having to leave her side. LOL Even though I don't know you NEARLY as well as most who have read this blog, I count myself blessed to know you, and I hope we become closer friends. Everyone who knows you knows why Brad (and now precious Blair) loves you!!!!
By the way. . .just an idea I'm sure you've already thought of. . .we took a picture of Breeleigh wrapped in her Project Linus afghan and sent it to the lady who had made and donated it.
PLEASE forgive this long post. . .my heart is just overflowing with joy for y'all!!
We love you so much and will be thinking of you and praying for you as you celebrate what just might be your most meaningful Christmas ever.
Love, and Bountiful Blessings,
Joe, Jennifer, Osjha, ^Jayce^, Juliana, Breeleigh and Samuel
